Lea, in brief
Charm, in Lea's case, arrives a moment ahead of her: a smile through the revolving door, a small wave, an apology for being early. At 161 cm she is petite, and the auburn hair falls long in soft waves; the eyes are hazel and turn nearly gold in warm light. Her clothes are romantic without fuss, silk printed with autumn flowers, a velvet ribbon, small earrings she chose with real care.
Sweet, people say, and they are right, but the word misses the spontaneity. Lea will drop a plan halfway through the evening if a better one appears, and somehow a better one always does. Early twenties; English, warm and rapid. Interior design is the passion, and she studies a room the way others study a face. Theatre runs a close second, from a musical to a two-hander above a pub, and lately she has taken up throwing pots, with results she calls honest.
Her favourite room in W1 is the Gallery at Sketch on Conduit Street, a dining room handed to an artist every few years and remade from floor to ceiling. She loves it because it breaks rules, and she will tell you which ones and why it gets away with them. After a drink there, the evening turns either towards a late curtain near Piccadilly or towards a quiet supper close by, depending entirely on her mood and yours.
Belgravia is home. Midweek and early evenings are easiest for her, weekends best claimed ahead. Theatres and hotels near her favourite corner are on the Piccadilly page; decide the night, and Cressida will see to it.

Lea, after dark
An evening with Lea rarely keeps to its plan, which is the whole point. She might meet you at seven for a drink in a room she has longed to see, spend ten minutes admiring the ceiling, then remember a new play two streets away with a few returns at the box office. Somehow the seats appear. Supper comes afterwards, late and easy, and she retells the second act with better timing than the cast managed. She asks about your own house, honestly curious what colour the walls are and who chose it. She laughs at her own pottery. Nobody else could make a lost plan feel like a gift. The night winds down softly, with a promise to show you a photograph of the lopsided bowl she is proudest of.
Lea answers
The Gallery at Sketch, for nerve, and the Great Gallery at the Wallace Collection, for perfection. My answer changes weekly.
Whichever has seats tonight. I have been happy at both and bored at both, so the box office decides, and I have never once regretted letting it.
Mostly bowls that lean to one side. One mug holds tea without leaking, and I am unreasonably proud of it.
