Roxi, in brief
Three rounds on the heavy bag before breakfast explain a good deal about Roxi: the light footwork, the balance, the readiness to laugh at almost anything. Curvy and 168 cm, with black hair grown long, she lets her brown eyes do most of the talking before she starts. She dresses like a holiday: a dress in a colour most people would not dare, gold jewellery and, when the mood takes her, a flower tucked behind one ear.
Playful, confident and vivacious, she is the life of a table without ever overwhelming it. Early twenties. Her English is quick and bubbly, and her stories come with sound effects. She is competitive about everything, pub quizzes included. Boxing fitness is the daily ritual. Podcasts fill her journeys, true crime to history, and she will have a recommendation for whatever you are curious about. Surfing is the escape: whenever the swell and the calendar agree, she is on a train to the Atlantic.
In Mayfair she loves The Guinea Grill on Bruton Place, a proper old pub with a celebrated steak room at the back, tucked into a mews behind the square. It is unpretentious and lively, and she orders her steak rare with total conviction. The evening might carry on at a cocktail bar nearby or become a stroll through Berkeley Square while she describes the best wave she ever caught, arms outstretched to show the size of it.
Roxi lives in Pimlico and is away on a surf trip until the 28th. Berkeley Square is her favourite corner of W1, and Cressida is holding requests for her return.

Roxi, after dark
Roxi's evenings are full of laughter. She meets you in the hotel bar with a grin, and within minutes you are swapping stories and making plans. Dinner is hearty and fun, somewhere with character, a good steak and a lively room. She tells you about the morning a seal knocked her off her board, the gym where the radio plays nothing but eighties power ballads, the podcast episode that kept her awake until two. She is confident and warm and makes everyone around her feel lighter. Afterwards, maybe a cocktail, maybe a walk round the square. She turns ordinary moments into occasions, and she has never once let a guest win a bet on purpose. The evening passes in a happy blur.
Roxi answers
You cannot think about anything else. For forty minutes the only problem in the world is the bag, and the bag always loses.
Anything about a heist. The planning is always cleverer than the getaway, which is somehow reassuring.
North Cornwall, when the swell comes from the west. Fistral when it is small, somewhere quieter when it is not. Cold water, warm pasties, no complaints.
