Tina, in brief
Confidence comes in every size, and Tina carries hers at 158 cm, athletic and perfectly at ease. The espresso brown hair falls straight and glossy down her back; the brown eyes are warm and quick. Her dress sense is classic, bent slightly by a designer's hand: a navy wrap, a belt she made herself, earrings from a Paris flea market that she wears with everything. Ask where anything came from and you will get the whole story, cheerfully.
Warm and easygoing, she is the companion who lets a tense evening relax. Mid twenties, and her English is friendly and grounded. Fashion design is her career in the making; she sketches on napkins, on receipts, on whatever is to hand. Craft cocktails are her hobby and her research, and she loves a bartender who experiments. Record collecting is the Saturday ritual, funk and soul mostly, and she can talk about pressings for longer than anyone strictly should.
In Mayfair she loves Mr Fogg's Residence on Bruton Lane, a cocktail bar dressed as the Victorian home of Jules Verne's fictional traveller, crowded with maps, curiosities and inventive drinks. She adores the theatre of it and the craft behind the menu. After a round or two she suggests dinner nearby, somewhere with a soundtrack she approves of, and if the music is dull she will say so, charmingly, to the manager.

Tina, after dark
Tina's evenings feel easy from the first minute. She meets you around seven in a lobby bar, smiles, and suggests something unusual from the cocktail list. By the second drink you are talking about music, and she has recommended three albums you need to hear. Dinner is relaxed and lively, with a table near the speakers. She talks about the dress she is designing for a friend's wedding, the record shop on Berwick Street she visits every Saturday, the bartender in Shoreditch who makes a drink with smoked tea. She is warm, confident and full of stories, and she can name every song that played during dinner, in order. The evening glides along, and you are surprised to find how late it has become.
Tina answers
Something with smoked tea and rye, in a bar with no sign on the door. I still think about it most Sundays.
